MUSHROOM GUIDE

Time to get that mystery goo, or try out the other crazy things that they make you do in this game. Imagine, not only are these things one of the hardest things to find, they're also one of the most difficult things to try to kill properly in order to get what you want out of them. On with the show.

White Mushroom

These are the most common form of the Mushroom breeds. They exist in one spot in every world and appear in groups of 3 or 4, except for Monstro. The trick to make them reappear in the spots that you find them in each world is kind of harsh. First of all, they are usually in a chain of areas, you need to defeat the enemies in two areas before you return to the area where the mushrooms are. If you go to more areas it won't increase your chances. However, if you defeat all the enemies in those areas, it will. So be sure to kill everything in sight.

Locations:
Traverse Town: In the hotel, inside the red chamber.
Wonderland: The Lotus Forest.
Olympus: Hades Cup, 6th Seed (no items).
Deep Jungle: The Camp Site, the Treehouse.
Agrabah: The Treasure Room in Cave of Wonders.
Monstro: Throat.
Atlantica: The Undersea Cave, the Sunken Ship.
Halloween Town: The Graveyard.
End of the World: Linked Worlds.

How to kill them: These are the acting mushrooms. They will basically behave in weird, fashion. Cast the appropriate spell on them three times and you'll get some item and lots of mp balls. TRY TO CAST THE SAME SPELL THREE TIMES.

Fire: found: in all the worlds with white mushrooms.
action: The white mushroom will wrap its arms around itself and shake/shiver.
Freeze: found: in all the worlds with white mushrooms.
action: The mushroom will squat a bit and wave its hands at itself.
Thunder: found: in all worlds with white mushrooms.
action: There will be a light on top of the mushroom as it looks to the ground.
Cure: found: Deep Jungle.
action: they well fall down head first.
Aero: found: Halloween Town.
action: It will spin.
Gravity: found: End of the World.
action: The mushroom will be flying in the air.
Stop: found: Atlantica
action: The mushroom will just freeze.

Items: The most important items you can get out of this are the Mystery Goo, you need these in order to synthesize all the items from the Moogles to get the Ultima Weapon. If you cast the same spell three times, the probability of getting Mystery Goo is higher and you'll gain another item, the (insert spell name here) Arts. You need all of these in order to get the Dream Shield for Goofy. Depending on what other spells you use you can get a variety of other items including: Fire Shards, Ice Shards etc etc. These aren't really important.

Rare Truffle

These are like the White Mushrooms except with blue bodies and yellow caps with red stars. They jump. A lot. And it is almost impossible to hit them. This is another horrible mini-game, the hardest and one that neither of us can figure out. So please email if you have better strategies.

Location:

Olympus: Hercules Cup, 6th Seed and Hades Cup, 46th Seed (no items).
Monstro: Throat.
Halloween Town: Bridge.
Neverland: Ship's Deck.
End of the World: Final Rest.

How to kill them: You can't kill them. You can only make them jump higher. In order to do that you need to lock onto the jumping shroom, and then hit it. Repeatedly. Like, a 100 times. Supposedly casting aero will help in this jumping process, you only have to run underneath it in order to get it to go up. It hasn't worked with us, but give it a try anyways.

Items: You have to hit them a certain amount of times in order to get certain images. If you hit it 10 times, 40% Mystery Goo and an Elixer. 50 times = Mystery Goo, Elixer and Shitake Rank. 100 equals Mystery Goo, Megalixir, Matsutake Rank. note: the Ranks are for bragging purposes only.

Black Fungus

These guys are one of the scariest enemies you'll find in the game. Why? They are one of the two types of Heartless that can actually cast poison on you. And the worst part happens when you try to kill them and they turn into stone for a little bit. Have fun.

Location:

Olympus: Pegasus Cup, 4th Seed and Hades Cup, 36th Seed. (no items).
Agrabah: Bazaar.
Halloween Town: Moonlight Hill.
Hollow Bastion: Cell.
End of the World: Final Rest.

How to kill them: There is the short way and the long way. The short way gives you a lower chance of getting the items from them, but will save you your health. The long way gives you better chances of getting the stuff, but also better chances of dying. You decide. The short way = cast gravity on them. They'll get squashed and lose a percentage. The long way is to just smack it until it dies.

Items: You can get Mystery Goo and Mystery Mold (we've never gotten one of these either.) Mystery Mold is useful because it is the most expensive item in the game. Sell it at the item shop and you'll get 9,999 munny.
